Band

The mission of the SFA Bronco Band is to train well-rounded musicians with the art of playing an instrument including the purpose of continuing their training all the way through high school and into college.

The SFA Bronco Band strives for excellence in all that it does; whether it is in a concert, at a rehearsal or out having fun. The band has won many awards over the years and intends to continue for many years to come. There are three major performances per year. The first is at Christmas time. The second major performance is for UIL competition. The final concert of the year is in the Spring. The band also allows for many individual events including participation in the All-City Band, All-Region Band, and Solo and Ensemble competition.

The band is made up of many parts that must come together as one. The Woodwind section has flutes, clarinets, and saxophones. The Brass section includes trumpets, trombones, baritones and tubas. Lastly, bringing it all together is the percussion section.

It is not all work and no play. After a year of long hard work, the band enjoys a refreshing day at the waterpark. This not only rewards them for a year of hard work, but it also is another way to build the camaraderie of the group.
