Max Wilson

Mr. Wilson began playing the double bass at the age of ten through the Klein ISD fifth grade strings program.  Throughout high school and middle school he studied with highly sought-after freelance jazz bassist Lex Valk. Mr. Wilson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University where he was the principal double bassist in the Orchestra of the Pines.  After graduating, Mr. Wilson worked at Morris Middle School in Pasadena ISD for two years and at Thornton Middle School in Cy-Fair ISD for three.  After taking a brief hiatus from the teaching profession to pursue woodworking, Mr. Wilson began working in Bryan ISD in 2017.  In 2016 Mr. Wilson was featured as the soloist with the Houston Sinfonietta, performing the Koussevitzky Bass Concerto.   In his spare time, Mr. Wilson enjoys playing music, woodworking, being outside, and spending time with his family.
