My passion for dance started when I was 8 years old after I took my very first dance class in Smiley, TX! In high school, I was the an officer for the dance team (which consisted 5-8 dancers).
During my high school career, I worked at the elementary after school program where me and my older brother taught dance to the kids. It was there when I realized that I wanted to continue to share my love of dance to young students.
My college life began at Texas State University in San Marcos. During that time, I worked as a dance teacher for Hermann Sons Life Schools of Dance. I was placed in small towns across Texas, like Nixon-Smiley, Poth, and La Vernia, to teach dance to their young members.
I also was apart of a touring group called C.I.M.T.A.Y.A. at TXST. We would perform at elementary schools teaching STEM through dance.
In 2017, I graduated from Texas State University where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education. I became the Assistant Dance Director for the Hutto Hi-Steppers before accepting the position at BISD.
This is my third year working as the Assistance Dance Director for the award winning Bryan HS Shy-Annes and Dance Director at SFA.
This will also be my first year as the Director of the first line of the SFA MS Bronco Belle Dance Team. I am very excited to bring this performance group to their highest potential and take on the year with them!
I married my amazing husband, my high school sweetheart, in September of 2019 and we have two of the cutest dogs together. We also celebrated the birth of our son in May of 2021! Everyday, our tiny family discovers new passions & life, here in Bryan, Tx.
I am excited show your student the work ethic, discipline, and confidence dance has to offer. Through LOTS hard work, we will have a great year together!
